Caitlin Downing, 4 year old daughter of Jeff and Denise Downing was diagnosed with an inoperable and untreatable brain tumor in January 2012. Double Down Athletics and Hagerty Pop Warner have joined hands to sponsor a Spaghetti Dinner and Silent Auction to help support Caitlin and her Family.

Position Descriptions

1).  Merchandise Director – Responsibilities for this position include identification, sourcing, and selling of all merchandise for the league throughout the season including all home games, registration, equipment handout, during some practices at the start of the season and possibility the parent meeting.  Our current merchandise director is stepping down but has agreed to stay on board as an assistant this year to help the new person transition into this role.

2).  Volunteer Coordinator – Responsibilities for this position include working with the team moms, merchandise director, concession director, and fundraising director to secure volunteers needed throughout the season.  Also, this person would be in charge of some special projects / events throughout the year including activities such as homecoming.

3).  Assistant Equipment Director – Responsibilities include working with the current equipment director to ensure all players are equipped properly for the season.  In addition we are looking for this person to share some of the game day responsibilities which include but are not limited to field set up and tear down, driving the trailer to and or from some road games, etc.

We are in need of support from the community in order for our league to succeed. Our league is run completely on the help of  volunteers.

Samuel Waiman won the scholarship that is given to honor the memory of Pop Warner members that have passed away.  Obviously I was very proud to be asked to present this award and even more proud that one of our own won the scholarship.  Congratulations to Sam and all the scholarship winners at Hagerty.  You make us all so proud.

Once all applications have been received, the coaching selection committee (commissioner, football coordinator, little scholars rep, and Coach Gierke) will review the applications.  Interviews with qualified applicants will occur shortly thereafter where needed.
